Three 'Cs" of Soul Winning Matt:9:35-38 # 1002

by David Cook

Three C's of Soul Winning
Matthew 9:35-38

Intro: Jesus Christ calls every follower of His into the mission of soul winning. However, much of the church has turned a deaf ear to their Lord's clear command. Today, let's discover how to be obedient to Jesus and enjoy the rewards of an obedient witnessing lifestyle.

I. COMPASSION

A. Having a compassioante heart means we see others the way Jesus saw them. (Lost, Lonely, Loved)

B. Having a compassionate heart is more than feelings - it's a lifestyle of action faith (Ministering to people as Jesus did in grace and truth)

II. CONNECTION

A. A soul winner will be actively involved in others lives. (Family, Friends, Co-workers, backslidden church members, etc.)

Sometimes it's hard to speak up for Jesus - but think what could happen if we don't! People will remain pitiful, society will continue to be sinful, Hell will be happy, Church will not be charged!

B. A soul winner will learn to share his faith
(Explain Romans Road, ABC's of salvation, FIRM Questions, etc).

F - Family? I - Interests? R - Religion or Relationship M - May I share my testimony of real hope with you?

You are not responsible as to how the person responds. The Holy Spirit convicts, converts, creates new life. Our job is to share the witness and trust the Lord to do only what He can do!

III. COMMITMENT

A. You must have a commitment to pray for people by name to come to saving faith in Jesus as Lord.

B. You must have a commitment to proclaim Jesus is the only way to eternal life. This is not just the ministers job...it's every believers job!

Conclusion: Today, perhaps the Lord has placed someone on your mind to talk to. Come and pray. Ask God for the COMPASSION, CONNECTION, and COMMITMENT needed to do the will of God!
